Yakkie Mein

There are many spellings for this New Orleans soup pronounced Ya- ka-Mein. Concocted by Chinese railroad workers for the slaves, it is not an authentic Chinese dish, so you can only find it in restaurants in the Deep South. Mom passed her recipe on to me. It is made with spices, soy sauce, beef, spaghetti and some other surprises. Mmmm Good!
